I dug up Bay-, Auburn-, Beige, Buff-, Copper-, Tan-, and Umber- as possible additions to the prefix list, since I've noticed we're running low.
What do you all think?

Additions to the prefix suggestion list, you mean? hm. Lessee.
Bay makes me think of the beach and bay horses, which have black manes and tails but brown bodies. Auburn makes me think of hair dye and if I added it I'd feel like a major hypocrite because it's one of the ones I've discouraged and I don't have the Starless excuse with that one. Beige... I'm more used to that one being used for cloth, but it could describe a cat. Buff, I've only ever heard used to mean muscular. xD Copper used to be on the list; is it not anymore? Huh. Must've forgot to re-add it to suggestions after I deleted a character with that prefix. Tan makes me think of skin. Umber makes me think of Latin.
So I'll add Beige and Copper. We can keep talking about the others.

Wow, I'm amazed I even managed to find two reasonable ones.

Also, I think Somber-, Dusk-, Dun-, Pallid-, Russet-, Hoary-, Milk-, Sallow-, and Plain- are possible additions. "Bay makes me think of the beach and bay horses, which have black manes and tails but brown bodies." True, but it is a legitimate word for brown. "Auburn makes me think of hair dye and if I added it I'd feel like a major hypocrite because it's one of the ones I've discouraged and I don't have the Starless excuse with that one." Good point. "Buff, I've only ever heard used to mean muscular." Well, yeah, I've heard that too, but really, you've never seen it as a color description? Huh, I've seen it a bunch of times. Odd. "Tan makes me think of skin." Fair point, but it'd also describe light brown fur. "Umber makes me think of Latin." Other fair point, as I know umbra in Latin means shadow, but hey, I still think it'd be a good prefix.

"Also, I think Somber-, Dusk-, Dun-, Pallid-, Russet-, Hoary-, Milk-, Sallow-, and Plain- are possible additions." -- huh. I thought Somber was already on there. /adds Dusk... mm, okay. Dun is a horse color. Pallid I'm not sure about, because I'm thinking it means paleness due to bloodloss, as in the "color draining from your face" thing. Russet is a type of cloth, but that's fine. Hoary was on my vocabulary list today. o.o Anyway, it means white or gray due to old age, so Hoarykit's not happening. oooh, I remember processing a cat with Milk as a prefix. Wasn't sold on that one. How would cats have seen milk? hm. Sallow means sickly yellow, but I have the Starless excuse here. Plain isn't a color or shape.
So I added Somber, Dusk, Russet, and Sallow (in fact, I'm starting to really like Sallow as a prefix).
"True, but it is a legitimate word for brown." -- According to the dictionary? Yeah, it's only saying that because of bay horses, as far as I know.
"Well, yeah, I've heard that too, but really, you've never seen it as a color description?" -- Nope. Buffkit. xD
"Fair point, but it'd also describe light brown fur." -- The only way tan relates to fur is if someone's tanning a hide.
"I still think it'd be a good prefix." -- I'd like to stick to English-sounding words.

How would they know what dusk looks like? They can't see the sky, and surely the cracks that shed some light wouldn't be descriptive enough.

mm, I was wondering that myself. My conclusion is that, since they can see the color of the night, they can see the brightness of day waning and the enclosure getting darker, so Dusk is like Dark as a prefix.

I think that makes sense.

I think Tan should be acceptable. I have a tan colored pencil, and I've seen cats with that color fur.
