...but to be technical, it's not now and I'm not hiring.
Starless being so small, I've always been able to handle everything except the skin (Spot <3), but I'll have to go to college one day and the two of us can't run the site by ourselves forever, so I've begun to consider appointing some moderators -- although that won't be happening for a while. When this happens depends upon if and when Starless gets any bigger, seeing as right now y'all are so well-behaved that any poor moderators wouldn't have anything to do. To anyone interested in becoming a mod: be conspicuous in exhibiting your qualifications.
my criteria:- activity and involvement
- general knowledge of writing, role play, and Starless
- maturity, tact, and confidence
It's bonus if you have any coding skills, artistic talent, or staff experience elsewhere.
I know this might sound like I'm asking for some perfect diplomat -- and in a way, staff are diplomats because they represent the membership of the site to guests, so I want to pick someone who will perform that duty well -- but moderators really wouldn't have much power and there isn't much that's required for the job.
Anyway, most of the workload would just be deleting spam and replying to ads. =P Other responsibilities would include reminding scribes of the role play rules when they forget, making sure any arguments in the Mews board stay civil, and giving tips/asking questions on processing cats (anyone is allowed to do that, but mods would have a particular obligation).
If there's anything you'd like to to tell me about yourself or if you plan to pick up activity soon, post here and I'll take what you have to say into consideration. Also, let me know if there's anything you'd like to bring to my attention in regards to staffing (suggestions of additional requirements or powers for mods).

I think Cloud should be moderator. I don't know how to put on new skins or do anything coding related. Besides, Cloud's more active.

...Ducky, do I SEEM like I have all those qualities? xD 'Cause I sure as heck don't. I'm active, yes, and I have minimal (operative word: MINIMAL) coding knowledge. (This is only because I had my own site once and though nothing ever happened on it, I explored the coding a little bit and figured out a few things.) Knowledge of Starless...I have fair proficiency there. But the last three...I haven't the faintest idea how you think I'm mature or tactful. I'm barely 14. Confident...sometimes. Depends on what I'm doing.
But unfortunately, Ten is right. ;-; Even though I never want her to leave because she is awesome and I will luff her forever, college is inevitable.
And Starless dying is not something I want to happen, because this place is awesome. <3

Mods don't have to know any coding or make skins, so don't worry about that. In fact, in order to get a cat accepted here you need to have most of the qualities I listed in my criteria, so y'all are good on those. x) For the most part it's just a matter of who wants to do it and who has the time. It's not like being a mod here is as demanding as being a mod on Fof.

Er....if no one else is suitable, I would. But only if there's no one better than me to do it.
And you sure got that right. x.x -reminded of the other app she needs to re-critique-

Well, my workload will just get bigger over the years, but I don't think I would mind all that much. Perhaps if I had a bigger obligation to get on, I would remember to post more! ;P

Personally I think most of our regular members would be good candidates for mods - the only real issue is activity and time constraints. You probably wouldn't have many issues deciding who to pick or where to find mods when the time comes.

Are you going to quit Starless once college comes around, Ten? -clings-
I'd love to be a mod, but then again, I'm only eleven and Cloud would be a way better person for the job. Like Darky said, most of the long-time members here would probably be quite capable of modding Starless. (excepting meh... >>)

DANG God you make me feel inferior. But I try! Every time I hear something new about you people, it makes me feel bad, dang it! It's like swimming fly- you feel like you've done 8 laps but you've really only done two. And I'm not trying to make you guys feel guilty, I just need to express my frustration.
