new rp board/area?

Now that I've reorganized the categories, the ooc section doesn't look so top-heavy and massive compared to the handful of role play boards, but I've been thinking about a new one for a while. It would be a little streambed, sometimes with a trickle of water and sometimes dry, that runs through the enclosure and later in the course of its waterways outside becomes a tributary to the main river.

I like to create boards based on what characters would do on them, not just where they are (which is almost necessary in this setting and one of its bonuses... boni?), and this streambed would be a popular place for lovers to take a walk (the Starless kitty equivalent of a romantic restaurant). In the same vein, it could be a more comfortable place for queens to give birth. When it's dry, it provides a little concave place to lay, and when the water runs, it provides a soothing sound.

However, I'm not sure this board would even get as much use as the boneyard. There aren't any official couples on Starless. Hailpaw will be bringing us some kits in mid-May, but seeing as Cloud wants to kill her afterward, that will be the last of any litters for a long time, unless more she-cats decide to settle down and have a family. I'm glad so many characters are getting involved with politics, but are they neglecting their personal lives? Still, I'd rather have an overdose of intriguing politics than an overdose of mushy romance.

So what do you think, scribes? Would any of our characters be interested in the streambed? Or should we stick to the boards that we have now?

I like this new idea. Maybe in the light season, when there's very little water, some cats could even fight over a portion of it. That'd create some drama. And I thought about finding Shadestream or Bat-tail their heart's desire, so that they could put this streambed in further use. :3

If it's not dry. But you do bring up a good point -- at present, there's no designated board for water fights (you can just find puddles on any of them). Even though a lot of our characters try to tout themselves as civilized, it seems like we should have a water source board.

Hailpaw is very different from the typical Starless gal, though. It's easy enough to find immoral toms around here, but as I was telling her, we have a conspicuous lack of any she-cats who, whatever their views, are willing to sink below above-average morality. What's up with that? Am I smelling gender bias?

I know someone's got their eye on Redstream and I'm personally feeling inclined to do some mushy roleplaying for once (which will probably be soon, seeing as my holidays are coming up. Again, I want to apologise profusely for not being active and being a lousy member all in all, but real life just taught me the meaning of drowning under social drama lately, and coupled with this being a very busy year academically for me I've apparently decided to subconciously remove Starless from my daily routine. >.> I still want to be a good member though, so I'll need to fix that, which shouldn't be a problem because Facebook takes up too much of my time anyway.) so the streambed doesn't sound like it would be completely useless in the near future.

And you did mention that the streambed would be a nice and soothing place - well I don't know about you, but I've seen more than a handful of cats wandering around the enclosure who've got their tails in really bad twists and could probably use some time to relax. That could be fuel for idle chat that could eventually lead to some new relationships, I think, because the overall vibe I get from this streambed; calm, a place to relax - is most likely to mean more pleasant temperaments. Who knows, a few hopeful singles might even see the streambed as a place where they could get lucky? =w=

She doesn't, but it is up there with extremely puzzling things like Pyro saying that Falconpaw is cute. -gags- And Thistle knows perfectly well that FALCONPAW AIN'T CUTE. Right, Thistle?

As for couples, I know Drabheart is definitely susceptible to romance, so any female cons who like guys who aren't the brightest but who are friendly and want peace.... Pebbletail, maybe. She may like Frozenheart, or maybe someone else. But that'll take a LOOOONG time. Drabheart loves the most easily of all my cats, Pebbletail is cooler and more practical. Dottedfoot is out for any romantic relationships. Hailpaw...we know that whole scenario. As for Darkfur...don't even go there, or you may make me sick.

Really, who would ever love HIM? Even SHORTWHISKER is more lovable than him, for crying out loud. Shorty has his cute moments. <3 Darkfur...is just someone you want to sit on and then throw in the trash.

He doesn't bother me yet. I should get to know him better... perhaps via Woodstripe.
